Gina Pottenger

Andrew and Gina Pottenger are missionaries with the Church of the Nazarene, serving on the Eurasia Region. The Pottengers have been assigned to Manchester, U.K., where Andrew is completing a PhD in church history through a partnership between Nazarene Theological College and the University of Manchester. He is finishing his education so that he is prepared to fulfill his call as a theological educator in the Church of the Nazarene.

Andrew has a BA in Religion from MidAmerica Nazarene University, and an MA in Theological Studies from Nazarene Theological Seminary. Prior to arriving in Manchester, Andrew was a volunteer with European Nazarene College serving as guest faculty. He also served the local Nazarene church in Büsingen through occasional preaching and various other capacities.

Gina has a BA in English Literature from Northwest Nazarene University and served from 2009 to 2017 as the founding editor of Engage magazine (, the online mission magazine for Nazarene Global Mission. She now serves as the communications coordinator for the Eurasia Region (read news and videos at Prior to serving on the Eurasia Region, Gina assisted the Nazarene Missions International team at the Global Ministry Center in Lenexa, and worked in publicity for JESUS Film Harvest Partners. She also has five years of experience in journalism as a reporter at two city newspapers.

They were married in 2006, and when they're not working, they enjoy reading, hiking, traveling and experiencing new cultures, foods and people.

Going Where the Church is Not Yet

Today there are over 4.3 billion people who live in areas where there is little to no gospel witness. 4.3 billion people who have not heard the message of the gospel, who have never heard the name of Jesus. We believe that everyone deserves to hear. God continues to call the Church of the Nazarene to spread the message of the gospel, to preach holiness, and to bring good news to the poor all over the world. The task is enormous; far too big for anyone to do alone, but together we can go where the church is not yet and see people, communities, and nations transformed.
