Esdras and Scarlet Jimenez

Esdras was born in Chiapas, México, and he is the second son of a Pastoral Family, he has served in his local church with NYI and SDMI, also he was the NYI director in his district (South of Mexico). With 12 years old, he accepted Jesus as his savior and during a retreat at the city of Palenque in 2012, God called him to serve as missionary. Since 2005, he has been ministering as missionary in Communications, Theological Education and Finances at MAC Region, and since 2014 as Holistic Ministry Coordinator to Ecuador in South America Region, and also as teacher at the Seminary. Esdras has a degree in IT, and Theological studies.

Scarlet was born in Managua, Nicaragua. She is the second daughter in her family. She has a degree in Business to the Nicaragua University. Also has a Master’s degree in Science of Religion in Missions by the Nazarene Theological Seminary (SENDAS) in Costa Rica.

She has served as missionary since 2004, as Treasurer to the MAC Region in Central America. Also, Scarlet has served as Administrator at the Guatemala Nazarene Seminary, and she is responsible for the administration of the Virtual Nazarene Seminary (a partnership of all seminaries in Latin America to offer on line classes) at SENDAS. Now, she is in charge of finances at North Andean Field Office in the South America Region.

Esdras and Scarlet are married since February, 2007 and have two beautiful children, Joshua Alexander who was born in Mexico and Sara Michelle who was born in Costa Rica during their time of assignment in that country. They are a multicultural family with the desire to serve God with all their hearts, soul and strengths in order to help built the body of Christ.

Going Where the Church is Not Yet

Today there are over 4.3 billion people who live in areas where there is little to no gospel witness. 4.3 billion people who have not heard the message of the gospel, who have never heard the name of Jesus. We believe that everyone deserves to hear. God continues to call the Church of the Nazarene to spread the message of the gospel, to preach holiness, and to bring good news to the poor all over the world. The task is enormous; far too big for anyone to do alone, but together we can go where the church is not yet and see people, communities, and nations transformed. Reaching these people begins with one step, a step of obedience and faithfulness that says yes to God’s call. Take your first step and start your journey toward serving in missions today.
